Truck Driving CDL Program

Drive Your Future Forward – Train for a Career in Trucking

Start a high-demand career in the trucking industry with our comprehensive 140-hour Truck Driving Training Program. Offered through State Center’s Training Institute, this cohort-based, not-for-credit program equips you with the knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence to earn your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and start working in one of California’s most in-demand industries.

Program Overview

  • 8-week, 140-hour training (First Two Weeks, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM); Remaining hours scheduled per student
  • ELDT theory curriculum that meets all DOT requirements
  • State-of-the-art simulator training for safe skill development
  • Extensive behind-the-wheel training covers range and road driving
  • Job placement assistance is available after program completion

Program Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid Class C driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a DOT drug screening

Advisory Notes

  • The state of California requires criminal record clearance through fingerprinting when applying for licensure
  • This is a fee-based program that is not-for-credit (scholarships are available)

Program Cost

  • $2,995* – Registration Fees

*Scholarships are available through the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation’s Good Jobs Challenge program for those who may be unemployed or underemployed. If eligible, an awarded scholarship may cover full or partial fees and required equipment. Complete the following questionnaire indicate program interest and apply for a scholarship: GJCScholarship
