Offered through State Center’s Training Institute, this cohort-based, not-for-credit program equips you with the knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence to earn your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and start working in one of California’s most in-demand industries.

Program Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screening
Advisory Notes
- The state of California requires criminal record clearance through fingerprinting when applying for licensure
- This is a fee-based program that is not-for-credit (scholarships are available)

Program Cost
- $2,995* – Registration Fees
*Scholarships are available through the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation’s Good Jobs Challenge program for those who may be unemployed or underemployed. POLICIES & QUESTIONS
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received up to five (5) working days before the course start date are refundable, minus a $25 processing fee. After that, cancellations are subject to the entire course fee. Please note that if you don’t cancel and don’t attend, you are still responsible for payment.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Notice:
Dear Driver-Trainee:
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) issued State Center Community College District (SCCCD) a Notice of Proposed Removal from the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR) dated August 28, 2026. Federal regulations require SCCCD to notify current driver-trainees and driver-trainees scheduled for future training of the proposed removal.
SCCCD has not been removed from the TPR at this time. SCCCD is taking the corrective actions identified by FMCSA to address administrative reporting and training-certification submission procedures. Additionally, SCCCD has implemented enhanced procedures and oversight to support continued compliance with FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training requirements.
SCCCD will provide additional information promptly if there is any change in TPR status that may affect your scheduled training or the reporting of your successful training completion. If you have questions regarding this notice or your training, please contact:
