PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Essentials of Supervision & Leadership program is a 4-week professional development course designed to equip new and experienced supervisors with the practical skills, tools, and confidence needed to lead effectively in today’s workplace.
Participants will learn how to define their role as a supervisor, develop their leadership style, and apply proven strategies to improve team performance, communication, and motivation.
Through a structured, four-session format, the program provides a balance of foundational leadership concepts and real-world application.
Topics include planning and prioritization, goal setting, situational leadership, team building, communication techniques, feedback delivery, delegation, and conflict resolution.

This program is ideal for new or aspiring supervisors, front-line leads and managers, workplace coaches or mentors, experienced supervisors needing a refresher, and anyone looking to grow as a leader.

PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Payment is due at the time of registration
- Space is limited, and registration will close once a class reaches capacity.
- Only one person per registration may attend. Guests or unregistered individuals will not be permitted in the training room.
CLASS & TRAVEL LOGISTICS
In-Person Classes (Clovis, CA):
- Location: Herndon Campus, 390 W. Fir Ave, Clovis, CA 93611.
- Room locations are sent with a calendar invite confirmation upon registration.
- If you are driving to the campus, allow time to travel and park.
- Temporary parking passes are issued via email to registered participants.
- Print and display permit for all registered classes.
- Classes typically begin at 1:00 PM (check-in between 12:45 PM – 1:00 PM), so plan accordingly.
Online Classes: (Zoom)
- Location: Zoom link will be provided in a calendar invite confirmation.
- Equipment Needed:
- A stable internet connection
- Laptop or tablet with a camera and built-in microphone
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Can I register multiple people from my company?
A: Yes, you can register up to 5 people with one registration transaction. If you have more than 10 people you want to register please contact the program lead to talk about Contract Education options
Q: What happens if I miss a class?
A: Due to the interactive nature of the program, participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions. We can provide supplemental materials and resources for missed sessions, but participation is key to getting the most from the program. We do not offer “make-up” classes.
Q: If I cannot attend, can someone else take my place?
A. Yes, substitutions may be allowed if they are requested and approved before the first class begins. Because this program registration is tied to the individual participant rather than the organization, substitutions cannot be made once the first class session has started.
Q: I registered but am not able to attend. Can I be transferred to the next class?
A: Please see our Cancellation Policy for refund options. We offer one-time transfer to the next session.
Q: Q: Do I need to bring anything with me?
A: All class materials and resources will be provided. We encourage participants to bring questions, scenarios or challenges to discuss and work through with guidance from the instructor and peers.
Q: Is this class offered online?
A. Yes, this class is offered online at least once per year. Please refer to dates above for online offerings.
Q: Do you accept Purchase Orders?
A: Yes, POs are accepted. Contact the program lead for details on using a purchase order.
Q: Can you offer this training on-site at our facility?
A: Yes, we can offer customized Contract Education at your facility for 10 or more employees. Contact program lead for details.
Q: Will I receive a certificate?
A: Yes, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion certificate upon completion of the class.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing before the program start date.
- Cancellations must be received at least 5 working days before the class start date for a refund, minus a $25 processing fee.
- Cancellations made less than 5 working days before the class starts or failure to attend the training are non-refundable.
- Refunds are not available after the course has started.
- Substituting another attendee may be possible if arranged in advance—contact the program lead for details.
- If you register and cannot attend, you must cancel in writing (email or phone) by the deadline to qualify for the partial refund or a one-time transfer to the next session. No shows will forfeit the fee.
Substitutions may be allowed if they are requested and approved before the first class begins. Because this program registration is tied to the individual participant rather than the organization, substitutions cannot be made once the first class session has started, including sending someone in your place for a session you cannot attend.
- The Training Institute reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the program if minimum enrollment is not met. In such cases, participants will be notified and offered a full refund or transfer to a future session.
