Prepare for a high-demand, high-skill career in welding with the State Center Welding Program—an accelerated, 16-week, cohort-based training designed to get you job-ready fast. Whether you’re starting a new career or upgrading your skills, this program provides the technical training and industry-recognized certifications to launch your future in welding.

Program Overview

  • Accelerated 16-week workforce development training
  • Hands-on lab experience using industry-standard tools and techniques
  • American Welding Society (AWS) Certification prep in GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes
  • Job placement assistance available after program completion

Who Should Attend?

This program is ideal for individuals seeking a fast-track path into the skilled trades. No prior welding experience is required—just a commitment to hands-on learning and a strong work ethic.

What You’ll Learn

  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG)
  • Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG)

Program Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must participate in intake assessment
  • Must submit to drug screening and background check

  • Program uses AWS online classroom curriculum
  • This is a fee-based program that is not-for-credit (scholarships are available)

Program Cost

  • $6,495* – Registration Fees

*Scholarships are available through the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation’s Good Jobs Challenge program for those who may be unemployed or underemployed. POLICIES & QUESTIONS

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations received up to five (5) working days before the course start date are refundable, minus a $25 processing fee. After that, cancellations are subject to the entire course fee. Please note that if you don’t cancel and don’t attend, you are still responsible for payment.
