PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Grant Writing & Management for Nonprofits certificate is a six-week professional training program designed to help nonprofit professionals successfully secure and manage grant funding. Participants learn how to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, build compliant budgets, and manage grants responsibly after funding is awarded.
This hands-on program walks participants through the entire grant lifecycle from researching funding opportunities to submitting a complete proposal and managing the award. Participants will work step-by-step on developing their own grant proposal, receiving instructor feedback and peer input throughout the program.
By the end of the training, participants will have developed a complete mock grant proposal and presentation, along with the tools and strategies needed to confidently pursue funding for their organization.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify and evaluate appropriate grant funding opportunities for their organization

- Write a compelling Executive Summary and Statement of Need using data and storytelling
- Develop SMART goals and measurable objectives
- Create a clear project workplan that includes activities, timelines, staffing, and deliverables
- Design evaluation plans that measure outputs, outcomes, and program impact
- Prepare compliant grant budgets and budget narratives
- Develop partnership materials such as letters of support and MOUs
- Understand post-award grant management and compliance requirements

Participants will complete a comprehensive mock grant proposal and presentation demonstrating mastery of the full grant development process.

Parking:
- Please allow additional time for parking and check-in.
- Signs will direct you to the appropriate training room.
- A temporary parking permit will be emailed to registered participants to print and display on the vehicle dashboard. You will need to display this permit on your dashboard in full view.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Do I need prior grant writing experience?
A: No prior experience is required. This program is designed for both beginners and individuals with some grant writing experience who want to strengthen their skills.
Q: Will I actually write a grant during the program?
A:Yes. Participants will develop a complete mock grant proposal throughout the six-week program using the concepts and templates taught in class.
Q: What happens if I miss a class?
A: Due to the interactive nature of the program, participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions. We can provide supplemental materials and resources for missed sessions, but participation is key to getting the most from the program. We do not offer “make-up” classes.
Q: If I cannot attend, can someone else take my place?
A: Yes, substitutions may be allowed if they are requested and approved before the first class begins. Because this program registration is tied to the individual participant rather than the organization, substitutions cannot be made once the first class session has started.
Q: Can I bring guests, children, or additional staff who are not registered?
A: No. Only registered participants may enter the training room. Each attendee must be registered individually to receive materials and a certificate.
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me?
A: Bring a laptop with you. All class materials and resources will be provided. You may also bring a refillable water bottle if desired.
Q: Will I receive a certificate?
A: Yes. Participants who attend all sessions and complete the program will receive a Grant Writing & Management for Nonprofits certificate from the Training Institute.
Q: Is this course offered online?
A: No. This training is currently offered only in-person, but we are exploring future online delivery options.
Q: Are meals provided?
A: Lunch is not included except for the last in-person training session.
COST AND PAYMENT:
Program Cost: $1,100 per participant
The registration fee includes:
- Six weeks of instructor-led training (26 total hours)

- Certificate of Completion
Payment must be completed before the start of the program to secure your seat. Space is limited to ensure an interactive learning experience and personalized feedback for participants.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing before the program start date.
- Cancellations must be received at least 5 working days before the class start date for a refund, minus a $25 processing fee.
- Cancellations made less than 5 working days before the class starts or failure to attend the training are non-refundable.
- Refunds are not available after course materials have been distributed.
- Substituting another attendee may be possible if arranged in advance—contact the program lead for details.
Substitutions may be allowed if they are requested and approved before the first class begins. Because this program registration is tied to the individual participant rather than the organization, substitutions cannot be made once the first class session has started, including sending someone in your place for a session you cannot attend.
The Training Institute reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the program if minimum enrollment is not met. In such cases, participants will be notified and offered a full refund or transfer to a future session.
